This was just really unique in terms of concept and execution. This follows several people in various classes in the fantasy city of Isandor with trouble brewing in all parts. I started this in October and it was worth the struggle 5 stars. It would’ve been higher rated if it wasn’t so white and het (with the one gay character being the villain).

I gave it three stars because overall it was a fun adventure/pirate romp.

The next 4 books I’m counting toward the Winter Bibliothon, even if the last book I finished 20 minutes after the read-a-thon ended.ĭaughter of the Pirate King by Tricia LevensellerĪ fun pirate adventure novel following Alosa, the daughter of the pirate king as she fakes her way onto a rival ship. – Weird break because I’m still new to all this blogging stuff-– It was enjoyable and I just really enjoy Ragna. I can’t give too much plot wise because it starts immediately after The Seafarer’s Kiss. I was given this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review, which you can also read on my blog. Interesting world building but that’s it. It was just… not my thing, I guess, because every other review gave it 4 or 5 stars. It’s supposed to be a YA sci-fi but it read more like a meh middle grade sci-fi. This follows her throughout her life until she’s 13 as she tries to figure out her life. It follows Joan who from the moment she was born she had super powers. Not only is it a picture book, but it’s a clear 5 stars. This almost feels like cheating, putting this on here. Love the world-building in this one.Ī Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo by Jill Twiss and Marlon Bundo Other than that, would’ve been a 4 star read. I wrote a full review for it, which you can read on my blog, but the main reason for the half star drop was I realized how much I was annoyed by the only enby character being the villain. It’s a f/f retelling of Ursula with mermaids, Vikings, and dystopian settings like you’re not used to. I read this in preparation of The Navigator’s Touch and while I originally gave it 4 stars, I dropped it to 3.5 stars. I was really looking for a good graphic novel at the start of the year and this fit the bill. It’s sci-fi and fantasy and superheros and very queer.

This list goes from the first book I read to the last. I am honestly shocked at how much I read in January. This won’t be a monthly thing (really just during months I have classes), unless you guys want to hear about a bunch of history books I read for class (but let me know if you want it).

I know we’re halfway through the month, but shush, I’ve had a lost of posts to post prior.
